"Raw Cotton"
Raw Cotton is a steel cruising Yacht designed by the Late Great New Zealand Designer Dennis Ganley.

"Island Girl"
American couple Ron and Marta Cox came to New Zealand to have a new 42ft traditionally built wooden cruising yacht. Island Girl is constructed out of New Zealand's famous boatbuilding timber "Kauri". Ron expressed a desire to use a mix of modern and traditional boat construction techniques The hull is 1 1/4" thick carvel planked on laminated ribs and frames. The transom is laminated sheets of plywood on sawn frames. The departure from tradition came in the form of gluing the planking to the ribs and frames and laminating instead of steam bending. The use of treated marine plywood is also used for bulkheads, decks and interior. However keeping with the traditional theme all planking is copper riveted. The deadwood and transom is bolted together with copper and bronze bolts. Many pieces of deck hardware as well as the rudder are custom cast bronze fittings. The deck has traditionally laid quarter sawn teak with a vertical teak panelled doghouse also spruce masts and booms. The engine is a compressed air start, 6 cylinder Gardner Diesel. While "Island Girl" is the Coxes home she is also a show piece for high quality and fine craftsmanship from a bygone era. To date she has made many ocean crossings from New Zealand to the Pacific Islands and Ron is particularly proud of the fact that even today, because of the hull planking has glued in splines instead of caulking the bilges still have nothing but dry sawdust rather than bilge water in them. Island Girl is currently available for sale (click here to view the listing)
"Hussair"
A 50ft steel centre cockpit cruising yacht designed by the late New Zealander Denis Ganley and modified by New Zealand designer Sean Booth. She is constructed using plasma cut mild steel with a 5mm hull, 6mm frames and 4mm decks. The doghouse is constructed of foam sandwich and plywood sheated in fibreglass. Powered by a 6 cylinder 130hp John Deere Engine, she features a luxurious teak interior with an aft master stateroom. Her owner, a retired Air New Zealand pilot had her designed and built with overseas cruising to the Pacific Islands in mind. Special attention was given to the appearance of this boat and to many observers, "Hussair" looks and feels like a fibreglass boat.
"Scotsman"
“Scotsman” 55
ft Birdsall/Transocean. Have a look at the sample of a tank test model, we can arrange to have any of the designs selected by our customers tank tested.
"Graal Swing"

"Wanderer V"
This project would
undoubtedly have been the most influential boat we have ever been involved
in, the Hiscocks are well known to most as off shore cruising sailors. When it came to building their boat, it was to be strong, safe and comfortable
all of this was achieved with great successes in Wanderer V. A true testament of New Zealand traditional boat building skills, that can still be found today at our yard.
Raynard
48ft steel hulled Roger Hill designed pilothouse cruising yacht. This yacht features a extensive inventory of equipment required to circumnavigate the worlds oceans. Emphasis was placed on safety and stability. To balance her tall mast, the keel features a flat bottomed bulb enabling the lead ballast to be positioned as low as possible without compromising her shallow draft. Construction is 4mm steel topsides, decks and pilothouse, with 5mm bottom plating and 6mm keel, which also double as a fuel tank. During construction the exterior steel shell was sandblasted and zinc wire sprayed before application of Altex Devoes extensive marine paint system. 10mm quarter sawn teak decks are featured with a 40mm shaped teak toe-rail capping, jointed with S section lock scarfs. Interior wood finish is in maple and white painted lacquer with teak and holly soles, stainless steel maststep and pilothouse table base. Motive power supplied by a four cylinder detroit diesel with a max prop self feathering propeller. A auxiliary genset supplies power through an invertor for on board systems such as watermaker, bowthruster, refrigerator, radar and communications systems etc. Raynard is a cutter with both headsails on FURLEX self furling systems. The main sail, self furls into the main boom and is lifted using a Lewmar self tailing electric winch mounted in the pilothouse dodger. Safety in severe storm conditions was part of our brief and storm shutters for the pilothouse windows, main hatch and deck hatches were designed and fitted. Also included were covers and water tight seals for the engineroom vents and dorade boxes. Raynad is constructed using high quality materials and by highly skilled craftsmen resulting in a steel yacht indistinguishable from fibreglass or timber. Since launching Raynad has cruised to Tonga and across the Tasman Sea to the Gold Coast in Australia
